Our Journal

This journal describes the activities of the Lockheed Martin Exploring Program during the 2003 Botball Project.  It also contains pointers to documents and pictures used during the project. There is one page for each meeting or event.

In late 2002, the Exploring Program decided to enter two teams in the 2003 Botball DC Regional competition. To get things started, we conducted a skills survey in December, 2002. The survey indicated we have a broad set of expert skills, but few people were expert in all skills.

The 2003 project runs from March 8 to May 5, 2003. In February 2003, we decided to use a process to engage the 40 members of the program to develop the two best solutions to the 2003 problem.  We plan to use three old Botball kits and the two new 2003 kits to implement solutions.  At any time, we could have several teams working on solutions.  Toward the end of April, we will down select to the two best solutions.
