Lockheed Martin Exploring Program Post 1010

Botball 2003 Team B

April 30, 2003
Team: Jeff, Aaron, Tim, Danny, Jason, Anton
Assigned to: Kit B 2003
Robot Name:  Firestarter (because it looks like a fire truck)

Botball teams in the Lockheed Martin Exploring Program are formed around one of our Botball kits from either 2003, 2002, or 2001.  In order to use one of the kits, we needed to submit a proposal to the Leadership team.  They liked our idea and assigned us to the 2003 B Kit.  It may have been helpful that some of our team members were on the Leadership team.

Our initial concept, schedule, scoring technique, and design diagrams are documented in our proposal.  We are so good, we plan to score 180 points every time we run.

Our schedule and progress are documented using task and status charts.  Our code and mechanical design describe the detail of our project.  As we go to the competition, we have decided on our representatives, their roles and a check list for them to follow.

Our team is part of the larger Exploring Program at Lockheed Martin, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  Our calendar and journal of activities are joint at the program level.  Our teams are fluid and members may move around to other teams as needed.

There are several other proposals which have been assigned to other Botball kits.  The proposals for 2003 Kit A, 2002 Kit A, and 2002 Kit B are available.  If the development under these proposals starts to look better than ours, we may switch to their design and concepts.

Note: As of April 30, 2003, our bot is having problems scoring points and completing the course.  We are considering substituting 2002 Kit A if we can't get our bot working.  We may have tried to do something too complicated.

Another Note:  You may notice a similarity between our web pages and Team 2003 A web pages.  We had one team working web pages for both our teams.  They used the same format, but much different content.
