Lockheed Martin Exploring Program Post 1010

Botball 2003 Team A

April 30, 2003
Team:  Amit, David, Amanda, Avishkar, Sarma, Jay, Mark, Max
Assigned to:  Kit A 2003
Robot Name:  Captain Crunch

Botball teams in the Lockheed Martin Exploring Program are formed around one of our Botball kits from either 2003, 2002, or 2001.  In order to use one of the kits, we needed to submit a proposal to the Leadership team.  They liked our idea and assigned us to the 2003 A Kit.

Our concept, schedule, scoring technique, and design diagrams are documented in our proposal.  We plan to score 100 points every time we run.  We have a description of our scoring plan.

Our schedule and progress are documented using task and status charts.  Our code and mechanical design describe the detail of our project.  As we go to the competition, we have decided on our representatives, their roles and a check list for them to follow.

Our team is part of the larger Exploring Program at Lockheed Martin, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  Our calendar and journal of activities are joint at the program level.  Our teams are fluid and members may move around to other teams as needed.

There are several other proposals which have been assigned to other Botball kits.  The proposals for 2003 Kit A, 2002 Kit A, and 2002 Kit B are available.  If the development under these proposals starts to look better than ours, we may switch to their design and concepts.

Our team has attained the approval of the co-chairs and our code and robot are working well.  We have consistently performed well in our scrimmages, ranging from 35-85 points, and have little left to perfect.  We are aiming for a full 105 points here; let's do it!!!

Note:  Web changed the name of our bot from Arachnibot (because the claw looked like a spider) to Captain Crunch (because of what it does to the tubes).
