Explorer Post 1010
Our Team

We are a great group of high school kids with interests in computers, robotics, rockets, and engineering. We meet at Lockheed Martin in Rockville Maryland on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings through out the school year. We are developing our experience in engineering to see if we want to make it our career. We also have a lot of fun!

Robotics...Robotics...Robotics...

Four teams are signed up for Botball Educational Robotics. There are workshops in February and tournaments in April. Two teams are in the Maryland competition and two teams are in the Virginia competition. Global competition in July in Honolulu - so save your pennies.

Rocketry...Rocketry...Rocketry...

Three teams are registered for Team America Rocketry Challenge. We need to have some good test launches for a qualification launch before March 1. The challenge is 800 feet high and 43 to 47 seconds in duration.(more...)

News...News...News...

Our next regular meeting is Wednesday, January 25, 630pm. Work on our robots and our rockets. Elections on February 1.

Rocket launch on Saturday January 28, 9am-2pm at the Maryland launch site.

Thanks to all the Post members and adults who helped at the FIRST LEGO League robotics tournament, January 15, at the Universities at Shady Grove.

Lockheed Martin Security
Always bring a photo ID to meetings and come early. We use the Lockheed Martin security system to access the meeting rooms.  Your school ID number is used for registration.

Inclement Weather Policy
Normally we follow the county public school weather schedule changes, but not always. Since our meetings are 12 hours off from the start of school, conditions may change. If it looks like there are no road problems at the start of our meeting and we don’t expect a change, then we will have the meeting. Consult with your parents and check our web site to make your decision.
