Engineering Exploring Program
Explorer Post 1010

    Gaithersburg, Maryland

Welcome to our web site. We are a great group of high school kids with interests in computers, robotics, rockets, and engineering. We meet at Lockheed Martin in Gaithersburg Maryland on Wednesday evenings, twice a month, through out the school year. We are developing experience in engineering to see if we want to make it our career.

Inclement Weather Policy
Normally we will follow the Montgomery County School weather schedule changes, but not always.  Since our meetings are 12 hours off from the start of school, conditions can get better or worse in that time.  If it looks like there are no road problems at the start of our meeting and we don’t expect a serious change by the end of the meeting, then we will have the meeting.  Consult with your parents and check our web site to make your decision.

Lockheed Martin Security
We use the Lockheed Martin security system to get access to the meeting rooms.  For kids in the Montgomery County Public Schools, we will use your school ID number.  We will figure out numbers for others.  Please email Bob Ekman your school ID number.  Bring a photo ID and come early to the meetings.

Always bring your photo ID!

Come Join Us
We are organized under the national Learning-for-Life Exploring Program.  For information about Exploring go to http://www.learning-for-life.org.  The local office has a web site at http://www.exploringlfl.org/exploring/.

The Post is staffed by volunteers from Lockheed Martin, their spouses, and friends. If you are interested in creating the future of engineering, we can always use more adult volunteers.
